We come from different places, generations, and disciplines. Some of us ask questions. Others build, imagine, challenge, or care. Most of us do a little of everything. What brings us together is not a shared set of answers but a belief that learning is never finished, that differences can deepen our understanding, and that each of us has something to contribute to the collective.

Every meaningful change begins with someone willing to ask a different question. Someone curious enough to look beyond the familiar, courageous enough to imagine an alternative, and generous enough to invite others into the conversation.
Born in Bellingen, New South Wales, Australia, in 2017, stretched wings to Istanbul & Bodrum, Türkiye, and now rooted in Valbonne, Sophia Antipolis, on the French Riviera, Académie Aperio is an interdisciplinary learning and creative intelligence studio working within France’s Social and Solidarity Economy. We bring together children, young people, families, educators, researchers and organisations across cultures, generations, and disciplines. Through workshops, camps, personalised co-learning, immersive experiences and collaborative research, we create hybrid spaces where knowledge is questioned, creativity is practised, and ideas find their way into action.
Our work is guided by a belief that education is both a personal journey and a shared responsibility. Grounded in research and informed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Council of Europe’s youth priorities towards 2030, we seek to advance inclusion, democratic participation, environmental responsibility and human wellbeing.
For us, possibility is not simply something to believe in. It is something we learn to recognise, nurture and build together.

Beyond the boundaries of knowing
We have grown accustomed to dividing knowledge into disciplines, as though the world itself were arranged in separate rooms. Science in one, art in another. The mind is here, the body is there. Yet the questions that matter most rarely belong to a single room. They travel between them, gathering new meanings, challenging old certainties, reminding us that understanding is seldom a straight line.
At Aperio, we believe learning flourishes in these spaces of encounter. Across our three interdisciplinary faculties, Creation, Vitality, and Inquiry, six interconnected lenses invite us to explore the many dimensions of human experience.

Not to dissolve the differences between disciplines, but to discover what becomes possible when they enter into dialogue. Perhaps the most valuable thing learning opportunities can offer is not the certainty of knowing but the freedom to remain curious. To hold more than one perspective, to question even our most familiar assumptions, and to recognise that there is always another way of seeing.
